After World Cup Squad Snub, Palmer Enjoys Leisurely Ibiza Holiday with Lineker's Brother

According to a June 3 report by The Sun, Chelsea attacker Cole Palmer, after being left out of England's 26-man squad for the upcoming USA-Canada-Mexico World Cup, has quietly appeared in Ibiza, Spain, for a relaxing holiday with Wayne Lineker, the brother of football legend Gary Lineker.

The 24-year-old Blues forward was not called up by manager Thomas Tuchel, sadly missing out on the World Cup finals. Palmer, whose form has been inconsistent this season, needed this time away from the pitch to reset mentally and recharge physically.

In the photos, Palmer is seen posing warmly with 63-year-old beach club owner Wayne Lineker, with a bottle of Grey Goose vodka on the table. Dressed in casual wear, sporting a gold watch and chain, he sits alongside Wayne on a bright yellow sofa, looking happy and completely at ease.

This is not Palmer's first visit to Ibiza – last summer, he also took a brief break there after winning the Club World Cup with Chelsea. Unfortunately, after that short respite, he immediately plunged into pre-season preparations with little real downtime. In fact, since the intense demands of the 2024-25 campaign, Palmer has struggled to fully recover, frequently hampered by injuries and poor form over the past year.

Meanwhile, Tuchel's England squad has arrived in Florida, USA, beginning intense preparations in Miami's 32-degree Celsius heat. The team is staying at The Breakers Resort & Spa in Palm Beach before moving to Kansas City to establish their base camp. Prior to the group stage, England will also face New Zealand in Tampa Bay and host Costa Rica on June 11.

For Palmer, this marks his first extended break away from the media spotlight since joining Chelsea in 2023 and swiftly earning a national team call-up. From his impressive debut at Stamford Bridge to continuous competition, he has had almost no rest all year. Now, missing out on the national team has ironically provided him with a valuable period of respite.
