Despite the newspaper having a strong Real Madrid fan base among its readership, Barcelona's Yamal received 37% of the votes, while Mbappe received just 27%, a gap of 10 percentage points. An additional 36% of readers chose other players. Previously, both players had expressed confidence in winning the award: Mbappe cited his outstanding individual season performance, while Yamal highlighted his numerous team championship titles. The debate over team honors versus individual statistics has intensified the early competition between the two stars from Barcelona and Real Madrid.
