Milan's Former Star Heads to Qatar! Bennacer Bids Farewell to Serie A, Donning Number 10 at Al Gharafa

Al Gharafa SC of Qatar officially announced the signing of 28-year-old Algerian international Ismail Bennacer, who will wear the number 10 shirt next season. Previously, Bennacer negotiated an early termination of his contract with AC Milan in July 2025 (his original deal was set to expire in summer 2027). He joined Milan from Empoli in 2019 and helped the team secure the 2021/22 Serie A title, but later faded from the starting lineup due to injuries, spending time on loan at Marseille and Dinamo Zagreb. He has not made an appearance for Milan since 2025. He was a core player and tournament MVP of Algeria's 2019 Africa Cup of Nations triumph, but was omitted from the squad for the 2026 World Cup.
