Following the termination of his contract with Monterrey this summer, 30-year-old Anthony Martial is now close to joining Malaga, who sit 18th in La Liga. Despite scoring just one goal in 20 appearances, the free agent attracted a lucrative offer from Al-Ittihad Tripoli offering €10 million after-tax over two years plus a €5 million signing fee. However, Martial rejected the deal, prioritizing competitive stability. He previously also turned down bids from two Ligue 1 clubs. Martial is currently training on his own to maintain his fitness and hopes to continue his career in Southern Europe, with a signing with Malaga expected in the coming days.
