Laporta argued that the new Camp Nou can accommodate 105,000 spectators, and FIFA should regard it as a 'third option' competing with the Bernabeu and the future Hassan II Stadium. He cited the Bernabeu's history of hosting the 1982 World Cup final, emphasizing that if the Camp Nou secures the hosting rights for the 2030 final, it would greatly enhance Barcelona's global influence. His remarks came during an event organized by Catalunya Radio and SER Radio to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Catalan-language football broadcasting.
