ESPN insider Shams reported that Saddiq Bey has reached a three-year, $55.5 million fully guaranteed extension with the New Orleans Pelicans, running through the 2029-30 season and including a trade kicker clause. Bey's agents, James Dunleavy and Jordan Gertler, confirmed the news. Bey previously suffered an ACL tear in Atlanta, causing him to miss the 2024-25 season. After his return, he averaged a career-high 17.7 points per game. Lakers reporter Anthony F. Irwin revealed that Bey has long been on the Lakers' acquisition list, but the Pelicans refused to trade him.
