Team Introduction: Team Introduction The Malawi national football team is the national football team of Malawi. It is managed by the Malawi Football Association and is currently a member of the International Football Association and the African Football Confederation. Malawi has only participated in the African Cup of Nations once, in 1984, and is the only international event it has ever participated in. Development History The Malawi Football Association was established in 1966 and joined FIFA in 1967. He participated in the African World Cup qualifiers for the first time in 1978, and subsequently participated in the 1982, 1986, 1990, 1998 and 2002 World Cup qualifiers, but failed to enter the finals. Participated in the 1984, 1996, 1998, 2000 and 2002 African Cup qualifiers, but failed to enter the finals. Malawi has achieved some good results in the Central and East African Nations Cup, winning the championship three times in 1978, 1979 and 1988. The Malawi domestic league started in 1974, and the cups were divided into regions. The Malawi Castle Cup started in 1967; the Malawi Buku Cup started in 1969; the Malawi News Cup started in 1977; and the Malawi Challenge Cup started in 1984. The Malawi national men's football team has participated in international and intercontinental football competitions since 1962, and the Malawi national women's football team has participated in international and intercontinental football competitions since 2002.
