Football Club de Nantes

FC Nantes Atlantique is a football club located in Nantes, Loire-Atlantique, in southern France. It currently competes in the French Football League. Nantes have won eight French Ligue 1 titles since the Sixties, the last two coming in 1995 and 2001. Nantes also reached the semi-finals of the 1996 UEFA Champions League, but unfortunately lost to Juventus and were eliminated. In the 2006-2007 season, Nantes performed poorly in the Ligue 1. Although the team invited former national team goalkeeper Bavs to check it in the middle of the season, unfortunately the team was still unable to achieve good results and was officially relegated to the second division on May 9, 2007. This was the first time that Nantes was dropped to the second division in 44 years. In the 2012/13 season, Nantes finished third in Ligue 2 and successfully returned to Ligue 1.
