Team Profile

The team is one of the oldest established clubs in Italian football. It is a southern Italian team and has never won any major championship in its history. It was formed in 1928 by the merger of three local teams. It was pretty good when it was first established. In the 1930s and 1940s, it stayed safely in the first division for a period of time. After several ups and downs, it was known as the "elevator". The best result in the team's history was seventh place in the First Division in 1946. After being relegated in the 1991-92 season, they were promoted as second runner-up in the Second Division in the 1993-94 season and fought to avoid relegation every season.
