Ed Sheeran Surprises England Squad with Pep Talk, Sets Sights on Title

Pop superstar Ed Sheeran recently visited England's training base in Kansas City for an intimate concert aimed at fueling the team's drive for World Cup glory. Last Sunday, the Three Lions staged a thrilling 3-2 comeback victory over Mexico at the Aztec Stadium, boosting morale as they prepare for Saturday's quarterfinal clash against Norway in Miami.

Sheeran's visit has lifted the players ahead of the knockout rounds. His connection with the England team began after an invitation from captain Harry Kane. Since 2021, Sheeran has made it a tradition to perform for the squad at major tournaments. Recalling in an interview: "In 2021, Harry invited me to camp, and then I got to know everyone. I've come every tournament since. It's become a nice little tradition. The lads are great listeners and never make me feel awkward."

After England's final group-stage match against Panama, Sheeran performed an acoustic version of 'Castle on the Hill' by the pool at the team's hotel, Meadowbrook.
