Fulham Officially Appoints New Manager! Former Real Madrid Boss Arbeloa Returns to England

On Tuesday, Álvaro Arbeloa was officially appointed as the head coach of Fulham, marking the former Real Madrid manager's return to English football. The London-based historic club has signed him to a three-year contract, and he will lead the team in the Premier League next season.

Arbeloa's appointment completes the transition following Marco Silva's departure. Silva has returned to Portugal to take charge of Benfica, while Benfica's former manager José Mourinho has filled the vacancy left by Arbeloa at Real Madrid after 13 years, returning to the Bernabéu.

The club's hierarchy emphasized in an official statement: "Álvaro was always our top target. In our meeting in June, he demonstrated an outstanding coaching philosophy that convinced us he was the ideal candidate to lead Fulham forward. We quickly determined that he was, and still is, the right person. I am delighted he accepted the challenge to take Fulham to the next level, and I believe the team, staff, and fans understand the significance of this appointment for the club's present and future."

Arbeloa took over the reins at Real Madrid in January following the dismissal of Xabi Alonso. However, Real Madrid finished the season without winning any trophies for the second consecutive year. The former Spanish international, who previously played for Liverpool in the Premier League, now returns to English football to take charge of Fulham.

"It is an honor to begin this new chapter at Fulham, the oldest club in London," Arbeloa said in his introductory remarks. "I bear a great responsibility, and I sincerely thank the owner and Vice Chairman Tony Khan for trusting me to lead Fulham in the Premier League."

Last season, Fulham finished 11th in the Premier League table.
