AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth is a professional football club in Bournemouth, a seaside resort city in Dorset, southwest England. It was established in 1899. Its original name was Boscombe. In 1923, it was renamed Bournemouth and Boscombe Athletic Football Club. In 1972, it was changed to its current name, AFC Bournemouth. After the 2007-08 season, the team was relegated to the English Football League B, and returned to the English Football League A after one season. In the 2013-14 season, Bournemouth reached the English Championship. This was also the second time in the team's history that they played in the second tier of England. In the last game of the 45th round of the British Championship in the 2014-15 season, Bournemouth defeated Bolton 3-0. With the last round of games left, they were 3 points ahead of third-place Middlesbrough, with a goal difference of 19 goals ahead of Middlesbrough. They basically secured second place in the league, and were eventually successfully promoted to the Premier League that season. This was also the first time Bournemouth played in the Premier League in the 116 years since its establishment. In the first Premier League season (2015-16), Bournemouth finished 16th in the Premier League and successfully retained their spot in the Premier League.
