Introduction: The Estonian national football team is the national football team of Estonia. Governed by the Estonian Football Association. They were founded in 1921, joined FIFA in 1923, and played their first game in 1920. In 1940, Estonia was occupied by the Soviet Union. Independence was not restored until 1991. Their first game after independence was against Lithuania in the Baltic Cup on November 15, 1991. The first match recognized by FIFA was a match against Slovenia in Tallinn on June 3, 1992.
