Team introduction: The Rwanda national men's football team is the national football team of Rwanda. It is managed by the Rwanda Football Association and is currently a member of the International Football Association and the African Football Confederation. Rwanda has yet to participate in the finals of any international competition and has never qualified for the World Cup qualifiers. The Rwanda national men's football team once entered the African Cup of Nations held in Tunisia in 2004, ranking third in the group stage and failing to qualify, and stopped in the group stage. Team History The Rwanda Football Association was founded in 1972 and joined the African Football Confederation and FIFA in 1976. In the 1999 Central and East African Cup of Nations held on home soil, Rwanda defeated the Zambian team in the final and won the championship. This was also Rwanda's best result in an international competition. The Rwandan domestic league started in 1980 and the cup competition started in 1980. The Rwanda national men's football team has participated in international and intercontinental football competitions since 1976, including: 1:0 victory over Ethiopia in the African Cup of Nations qualifiers in 1981; 1:0 victory over Somalia in the 1982 African Cup of Nations qualifiers; 4:1, 1:0 victory over Djibouti and Uganda in the Central and East African Nations Cup in 1999; 2000 African Cup of Nations qualifiers. Defeated Congo 2:1; defeated Kenya 2:1 in the Central and East African Cup of Nations in 2000; defeated Somalia 3:0, 1:0, 3:2 in the Central and East African Cup of Nations in 2001 team, Eritrea team and Uganda team; in 2002, they defeated Zanzibar team, Somalia team, Ethiopian team and Uganda team 1:0, 1:0, 1:0, 2:1 in the Central and East African Nations Cup.
