Zhejiang Greentown Football Club is located in the Zhejiang Greentown Zhongtai Football Training Base in Taoyuan Community, Zhongtai Township, Yuhang District, Hangzhou City, Zhejiang Province. In order to promote the development of football in Zhejiang, Greentown Group invested 130 million and acquired 216 acres of land to build the Greentown Zhongtai Football Training Base. In April 2004, Greentown Football Club settled in the base, and in September 2004, Greentown Football School officially opened. Zhejiang Greentown Football Club was jointly established on January 15, 1998 by Greentown Real Estate, Zhejiang University and the Zhejiang Provincial Football Association. It is the first and currently the only professional football club in Zhejiang Province. Since its establishment, Zhejiang Greentown Football Club has aimed to revitalize Zhejiang football and change the status quo of Zhejiang as an "economically powerful province and football desert". In 2005, the club's equity was changed, with Zhejiang Greentown Holding Group Co., Ltd. accounting for 96% of the shares and Zhejiang University accounting for 4%. At the end of 2000, Greentown Football Club spent a huge amount of money to purchase the Yanbian Aodong Football Team and began its journey to Class A and B. It successively invited well-known domestic and foreign coaches such as Gu Mingchang, Horton, and Li Bing to coach. In the 2001-2003 season, the Greentown football team ranked eighth, seventh and tenth respectively in the National Football League A and B. Especially in the 2002 FA Cup, Greentown reached the semi-finals for the first time and became a dark horse at the time. In 2004, they participated in the first Chinese Football League and ranked eighth among the 17 participating teams. In the 2005 season, the team achieved its best record of third place in the league. While Greentown Football Club pays attention to the performance of the first team, it also attaches great importance to the cultivation of reserve talents. Since the establishment of the club, it has successively formed the Greentown Class A team, the Greentown National Games team, U-19, U-17, U-15, U-13 and other professional football teams, as well as multiple amateur youth teams. From July 2000 to July 2004, the club invested more than 10 million yuan and sent more than 30 youth football players and coaching staff to Yugoslavia and Bulgaria for training and study. The team is currently representing Zhejiang Province in the 10th National Games football competition and has reached the finals. It is very likely to create the best results in the history of the Zhejiang National Games men's football competition. In addition, many members of the team have been enriched into the first team to compete in the Chinese League One. In 2001, the then Greentown National Games team represented Zhejiang Province in the 9th National Games football competition and reached the historic finals.
