Club Atletico de Madrid

Atletico Madrid is a football club located in Madrid, Spain. It was founded on April 26, 1903. It is currently one of the Spanish Football League teams. The team's current home stadium, the Vicente Calderon Stadium, was completed in 1966 and can accommodate 57,000 spectators. It was named after the club's president at the time. It was also the beginning of a glorious period of success, followed by the club's first European trophy, the Cup Winners' Cup, and the signing of the great goalscorer Gallat. In the 1999/2000 season, the club was relegated to the second division again and played in the second division for two years before returning to the first division. Atletico Madrid is the third-best performing team among Spanish football clubs, ranking only behind city rivals Real Madrid and Barcelona in terms of number of championships, number of season ticket holders and total revenue. Atletico Madrid has been unable to make it in La Liga for consecutive years, and its results have always hovered in the middle and upper reaches. But the team achieved great success in the Europa League. In the 2009 and 2011 seasons, the team won the championship twice in three years. In the 2012-13 season, Atletico Madrid, led by Argentine Simeone, won the Copa del Rey that season.
