2026 Summer Transfer Window Schedules Released: Premier League Opens June 15, Big Five League Windows Set

The latest global transfer statistics released by FIFA show that men's international transfer spending in 2025 rose to £9.49 billion (approximately $13.08 billion), setting a new all-time record. The industry widely expects the upcoming 2026 summer transfer window to maintain this momentum, with plenty more squad reinforcement moves expected from major clubs.

Although the 2026 World Cup kicks off on June 11, clubs can still proceed with their recruitment plans as usual during the tournament, unaffected by the match schedule.

Under FIFA's general rules, even after a transfer window officially closes, league clubs can still complete signings with free agents, provided those players did not hold a valid contract with any club at the time of the window's closure.

In addition, if the transfer windows of two clubs' respective leagues do not overlap, the two clubs can still reach a transfer agreement in advance, but the player's official registration must wait until the next transfer window opens in the league of the buying club.

All dates below are based on FIFA's official transfer window calendar.

In the English Premier League, the 2026 summer window officially opens on Monday, June 15, and closes on Tuesday, September 1, at 23:00 BST (18:00 ET).

Spain's La Liga summer window will open from Wednesday, July 1, and close on Tuesday, September 1, at 22:59 BST (17:59 ET).

Italy's Serie A transfer window kicks off on June 29 and concludes on Tuesday, September 1, at 19:00 BST (14:00 ET).

Germany's Bundesliga summer window opens on Wednesday, July 1, and closes on Monday, August 31, at 19:00 BST (14:00 ET).

France's Ligue 1 window likewise starts on Wednesday, July 1, and ends on Monday, August 31, at 19:00 BST (14:00 ET).

The English Women's Super League summer window opens on Thursday, June 18, and closes on Thursday, September 3, at 23:00 BST (18:00 ET).

Major League Soccer's secondary transfer window is scheduled to open from Monday, July 13, to Wednesday, September 2.

Meanwhile, summer window dates for other major leagues are also worth noting: Mexico, July 2-September 11; Netherlands, June 22-September 2; Portugal, July 1-September 15; Saudi Arabia, July 22-October 12; Turkey, June 22-September 4.
