The Israeli League A consists of 16 teams, played in a double round-robin of home and away games, for a total of 30 rounds. The winner of each game earns 3 points, the loser earns 0 points, and each team earns 1 point for a draw. Finally, they are ranked by accumulated points. If they are tied, the ranking is determined by goal difference, number of games won, number of goals, and match results. The top 8 teams in the league participate in the promotion play-offs, and the last 8 teams participate in the relegation play-offs.
The Israeli League A play-offs are divided into 2 groups. The 1st to 8th place in the regular season participate in the championship group (Group A). The top two in the championship group are promoted to the Super League. The 9th to 16th place in the regular season participate in the relegation group (Group B). The last 2 in the relegation group are directly relegated. The third place from the bottom participates in the relegation play-off. The game adopts a single round-robin system.
Championship play-off points and relegation play-off points are calculated as regular season points + play-off points.
