Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto De Zerbi has recently sent a clear signal: any player who feels a 'lack of joy or lack of pride' while wearing the Tottenham shirt will not be retained by the club. This statement comes amid growing speculation over the future of Swedish midfielder Lucas Bergvall.

Tottenham invested approximately £237 million ($319 million) in squad rebuilding during the summer transfer window, while also offloading surplus players. De Zerbi stated that he would not hesitate to part ways with players who have lost the will to fight for the team.

Bergvall was included in Tottenham's 35-man squad for the pre-season tour to New Zealand and Australia, but he had very limited opportunities under De Zerbi last season, and the Swedish midfielder may be contemplating a move. De Zerbi emphasized at the pre-match press conference before Tottenham's game against Auckland FC: 'Since my first day at Tottenham, I have made my principles clear. Who doesn't want to be here? Tottenham has spent heavily to bring in Jan Paul van Hecke, Sandro Tonali, and Matheus Fernandes to strengthen the squad, but De Zerbi insists that the recruitment work is not over. 'The current goal is to reinforce the attack,' De Zerbi said. 'We are eager to reach the first-tier objectives because we already have some important players, but to launch a new plan, we need to sign a few more key figures.'
