Lightning Signing + Immediate Loan: 18-year-old Kazakhstani Forward Satpayev Joins Chelsea Then Moves to Burnley
This Friday, the newly turned 18-year-old Dastan Satpayev officially signed a six-year contract with Chelsea Football Club, valid until 2033. Immediately after, the young forward was loaned to Championship side Burnley for a season-long spell. Satpayev previously played for Kazakhstan's Kairat club, and a transfer agreement had been reached between the two parties as early as February 2025, with all formalities now completed.
Satpayev, who has earned eight caps for the Kazakhstani national team, will head north to join Burnley for the 2026-27 Championship season. In Burnley's official statement, Satpayev said: "I am very excited to be here. This is a fantastic opportunity in my career to join a great club, showcase my abilities, and help the team get back to where they belong. It's my first time playing in England, and I am ready to write a new chapter and achieve good results with Burnley."
Last season, Satpayev featured for Kairat in the Champions League, scoring against Copenhagen. This summer, he joined Chelsea for their pre-season tour in Australia and Asia. In the first match under Xabi Alonso, Chelsea defeated Western Sydney Wanderers, and Satpayev also found the net in that game.
