"Espí's performance was outstanding, contributing vital impact to the team," Mourinho praised, "but the challenge he faces is that we have another extraordinary player (Mbappé), and keeping both of them on the pitch at the same time is not easy."

Mourinho admitted that after Real Madrid conceded two goals to squander their two-goal lead, the problems were "blatant." "In what seemed like a match we were fully in control of, we had three, four, five chances to put it to bed and failed to take them," the Portuguese said. "We didn't score, we couldn't close it out 3-0 or 4-0. It's letting opportunities slip through your fingers when everything seems easy, especially in an away environment."
