Barcelona Center-Back Signing Stalls; Flick Given Four-Month Evaluation Window to Decide Winter Strategy

According to Spanish media outlet Diario Sport, with the summer transfer window now officially closed, Barcelona completed their reinforcements in attack and midfield, but the center-back signing that had drawn the most external attention failed to land as hoped. Now head coach Flick and sporting director Deco will begin a four-month evaluation plan, using competitive matches to test the actual level of the existing defensive options, and thereby provide the basis for deciding whether to activate new signings in the January winter window.
